Dental Crowns FAQs
At the Manhattan dental crowns practice of Dr. Beshar, we strive to help our patients make educated decisions regarding their treatment plans. We understand that many of our current and prospective patients may have questions regarding treatment with dental crowns, so we have provided these answers to the dental crowns questions we hear most frequently. If you have additional questions about dental crowns, we encourage you to contact us so that a member of our friendly and experienced staff can be of assistance.
What is a dental crown?
When a person has a tooth damaged by decay, trauma, or infection, Dr. Beshar can fit a dental crown over the entire surface of that tooth to lend support, restore a natural appearance, and protect that vulnerable tooth from additional damage. Dental crowns are sometimes referred to as caps, and we offer a variety of dental crowns options so each of our patients is sure to find the restorative dentistry solution that is right for them.
How long will my dental crown last?
The durability of a dental crown depends largely on the material that crown is made from. With proper care and maintenance, a dental crown can help keep your smile strong for up to 15 years or longer.
Can I afford dental crowns?
Yes! At our Manhattan office, we offer a number of payment and financing options to help our patients manage the cost of dental crowns. We even help our patients with complex dental insurance paperwork to ensure that each patient has access to the best dental care at a cost they can afford.
What types of dental crowns does Dr. Beshar offer?
At Dr. Beshar’s Manhattan dental crowns office, we offer a full range of different types of dental crowns so that each patient receives the dental restoration that is best suited to his or her unique needs. During your personal dental crowns consultation, Dr. Beshar will go over each of the dental crowns we offer, which include stainless steel crowns, metal crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, and ceramic or porcelain crowns.
What is involved in the dental crowns process?
The dental crowns process is completed over the course of two visits to our office in Manhattan. During your first dental crowns appointment, Dr. Beshar will conduct a thorough examination and discuss the treatment options available to you before preparing your tooth for a dental crown. You will be sent home with a temporary crown that you will wear until your second and final dental crown appointment, when Dr. Beshar will permanently cement your custom-crafted dental crown into place.
